If i have several different slide decks, do i need to set slido up on each one? I will have presenters in 8 rooms on different topics and slides

Ā

Hi @Judyp0406,

Each presentation file needs to be connected to a slido. If you are using our Professional plan or higher, you can use the same slido creating multiple rooms. Then each room would be connected to 1 presentation file. If you are on our lower plans, you would need to create a separate slido for each deck.

Hope it helps!

Ok i am still at a loss. I have 10 presentations that are all different, only 1 is mine, but i am being asked to create polling questions for each deck. I am not understanding how to do this. Is there someone i can talk to about this?

@Judyp0406Ā If you’re responsible for setting up the polling for each deck and they’re for 10 different presentations that will have their own distinct poll questions, I would recommend that you create one slido for each deck.Ā

Please note that for the presenters to be able to activate the polls that you’ve set up during their presentation, they will need to have our Slido for Powerpoint add-on installed on their device they’re presenting on, which can be downloaded here.

The presenters will also need to be invited to those slidos as co-hosts.Ā

If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to us at support@slido.com.Ā

Ā

our IT department is very strict on what folks can download on their phone, do i need something downloaded on all participants phones?

@Judyp0406, participants do not need to download anything to join and interact in the slido. They can join at slido.com in a browser and enter the slido code, they can scan a QR code, or you can share a direct link to your slido.

I figured out how to add slido to my slides, each presenter will need to add slido to their slides correct? What is the easiest way to explain to them how to do this

Hi @Judyp0406Ā

Yes, that is correct. Feel free to share these instructions with them:

  • create your slido account on slido.com using the Sign up button
  • installĀ the integration for PowerPoint on your computer
  • open your PowerPoint file, open the Slido sidebar and add your questions to your presentation - quick instructions here

That covers the basics of what to do before the presentation. For the day of presenting, you need to make sure the computer used for presenting has Slido integration installed and each presenter needs to log in into the Slido sidebar of the PowerPoint before it is shared on the screen.

Best,

Can i just put a poll on each presenters slide deck and then send their deck to them? Or do they need to have slido installed on their computer in order for the poll to work?

Hi @Judyp0406.

Each presenter will need to have our add-in downloaded onto their device, so that they can log in with their Co-host access.Ā  Otherwise, presenting the slides will only display the ā€œholding slidesā€ that you see in Editing mode.

I have each pp slide from the presenter and i added in the slido questions, word cloud etc. I asked each presenter to download slido on their computers to present their slides. Will that work or do i need to invite each person presenting each deck?

Hi @Judyp0406.Ā

You will still need to invite each person as a Co-host to your slido.Ā  That will allow them toĀ select your slidoĀ for the presentation.

Ā

I received this message from one of my presenters.Ā  I added them and sent them the link

The new Slido app has slowed down my slide deck. It’s stating I need the latest version for a better experience. For this one, I also had to request access to view the slido slide. Did it send you a message?

Ā

Ā

I did thatĀ  here is what it says:

Hi @Judyp0406Ā

Feel free to tell the presenter to get in touch with us directly at support@slido.comĀ and we can troubleshoot their issues directly. But they will need to download the latest update for sure.

When it comes to the access, would you mind sending us an email to support@slido.comĀ as well? We can take a closer look at the specific person and check if they have access to that slido in our system.

Best,
